This redwing blackbird would land on this deer's head and pick the bugs off it, fly a ways, come back and do it again.

this image shows the veins that support the wing structure. When the monarch emerges from the chrysalis, the wings are folded up and limp. The butterfly pumps the veins full of fluid. This hydrostatic pressure enables a rigid wing structure. Not a bad packaging design!
