My shot in the museum :)

Tonight was the exhibit for the winning shots in the San Antonio Museum of Art "Museum Reach" Photo Contest. It was awesome to see my shot hung there...surreal actually. They will only be up a few days, but I was still stoked!
It was also great getting to meet some of the local photographers, and I also got my 2nd "stranger" for my 100 strangers project!
Outtakes below!

On the trail through the pasture at Sky Meadows State Park. When I take shots from low, I tell my husband it's so people see my point of view of our vactions.

i dig this better on black. you will too.
from march, this was one of the only days it was nice and sunny when i had the fisheye lens rental. i drove out to a park, and snapped this while some people were having a BBQ about 20 feet away. they were very confused at what i was doing.

Bio:
"Tufi Piyufi, gracious and mighty Admin, is seen here getting up from her Pokémon Rahi steed, Charichuela (pronounced "cher'-ry-chew-'el-la"). She carries her imperial sceptre set with a crystal skull, symbolic of all her staffly powers within BZPower. She is a natural leader and directs the work of her minions with legendary skill and humanity. Her often serious demeanour belies a sophisticated sense of humour. It's not known whether her trusty chair-creaure is the progeny of natural evolution or genetic experiments, but it seems content with its lot in life and isn't burdened with unnecessary intelligence. Its paws resemble miniature hovercraft, and function about the same. When agitated, the creature's paw-skirts retract slightly, showing the bright colour underneath. It has been known to put up a respectable fight when threatened, its main modes of defense being its long tail and heavy armour. It eats mostly slow mice and the occasional can of Spam®."
Credit for inspiration goes to Tiome for his Black Frost version (also a contest entry), and to Ms. Piyufi herself for her original character MOC.
A note on the photography:
While the other pictures in this set were taken with my friend's superior Canon Powershot A560, this one was taken later, with my own ancient Konica Minolta DiMAGE E323. To make up for each individual photo's inferior quality, I took a sequence of twenty exposures (5 sets of 4) and layered them in Photoshop Elements with inversely progressive transparencies (100%, 50%, 33%, 25% opacity) in two phases, so that the final product is an "average" of all twenty shots. What makes this so effective is that each picture had completely different lighting angles achieved by me waving a couple of LED nightlamps around the model. The net result is slightly blurred in spots due to the difficulty of realigning the five slightly misaligned sets of four together, but the resulting superlative lighting effect and "smoothness" more than make up for that. So... "Where there's a will, there's a way." Cheap camera doesn't have to equal cheap-looking pictures. ;-)

I never thought I would say this, but Flickr has become a popularity contest.
I don’t know, it’s all about comments, and explores and stuff like that. It’s really starting to get to me. And what ticks me off the most is that there are so many people out there with amazing talent, but they never get recognized for it. And then there are those people who I honestly don’t see what’s so special about their photos and they get 467467216 comments, and faves, and pointless explores. I think I need a break. I wish I could go back and learn about photography in a whole different way. Flickr just isn’t the same anymore. ):
